Hey what’s up? What’s up? What’s up, everybody? Welcome back to THE a.m guys, welcome back to five minute rants. I’m your host, Michael Abernathy. And welcome back to the show predicated on the journey of business in life.

Last episode, guys, I talked about how it is better to run and get in a wreck than it is to be too scared to run at all. And I really wanted to add to that, I really want to talk about having this deep belief of I can. So growing up, my father had a woodworking shop, and we would work, build, fix things, a lot of stuff in that shop. And my dad had a lot of sayings and writings all over the wall. And one of the things, one of the things that he had, and one of the bigger writing’s on the wall was a simple phrase, in a very deep black Sharpie, over the outside door, I can.

And I think that a lot of us deeply believe deep down, I can’t, or I’m not good enough, and I can’t, doesn’t directly come out like, oh, I can’t do that. Sometimes it does. But oftentimes I can’t manifests as a, I don’t know how to do this, or I don’t have enough knowledge, or I’m not good enough, I don’t have skill sets. And there are times and places in life where skill sets really matter. There are times in places where having the right skill set and having the right technical skill set really matters in you being able to accomplish your goal or objective, right, like, think about a heart surgeon, a heart surgeon needs to be really skilled, it needs to have a very specific knowledge. In a very specific technical skill, and application of both of those things, right. But at the same time, both those skills and those knowledge from the heart surgeon has nothing to do with whether he can do or not do his job. I can do heart surgery was a decision he made a long time ago, or she made a long time ago to become a heart surgeon and then start down that path. See I can and I’m trying to separate I came from knowledge I’m trying to separate I came from skill sets. Because if you believe you can, then you know What will happen, you will learn the skill sets you need to learn to actually accomplish your goal.

And I really think that this is so important, especially if you are about to start your own business or especially if you are start about to venture out in life in a new way. Or especially if you are trying to move forward in an area of your life, you know you’re looking to work get promoted, you want to be an entrapreneur different things like that whatever’s happening, this mindset so important that I can. And the truth is, it’s already in you and you can do whatever you would like to do. It just may require some sweat equity, some work, critical thinking, and, you know, plan and vision. But this is the point is I can do this. And the question is, well, whether I should like it should I do this or not is a totally different question that comes up later. But if you don’t believe you can, then you don’t need to ask whether I should do this or not.

And the reason why I’m saying this is because as a man think, so is he as your faith is so be it unto you. So whatever you believe it’s going to happen and whatever you think that’s what’s going to shape you your thinking, our thinking, the way we think, comprehend process, our normal everyday thoughts about situations, our first reactions to whatever has come up in our lives, all of those things deeply shape us. And then as a result, they deeply shaped the course of our lives.

I’m reading a book right now. And one of the things that it said was, You are the most important product to develop. And our mentor, mine and Andrew’s mentor, and good friend Tony has always told us you will be the best investment you ever make investing in yourself is the best investment you will ever make. And it’s so true because who I am as a person directly, directly affects everything I do in my life. It affects the course of my life, the outcomes of my life, the decisions. And so if I struggle with believing that I can do something, or that I’m able to do something, it’s going to directly affect affect my decision making is going to directly affect how we operate as a company.

Oftentimes, I really love the impossible questions and I’m err, quoting impossible. I really love it when people are like, No, this is impossible. And it’s like, Alright, we’re on the right track. If somebody is saying that this is too hard to do, we are on the right track of What we actually need to do. Because normally it turns out that the impossible is simply a different perspective or outlook of how to accomplish something. But having that mentality all comes from the deep belief of I can and so if you’re listening to this, I encourage you put that somewhere, look at it, stare at it, let it become a part of you and let it really add benefit to your life because you can.

So anyways guys, I’m enough time so I’ll catch you later. Peace
