What’s up? What’s up? What’s up, everybody? Welcome back to THE a.m guys. Welcome back to five minute rants. I’m your host, Michael Abernathy. And welcome back to the show predicated on the journey of life and business. Hey guys real quick. If you know somebody whose life would be better by listening to this show, would you share it with them, and partner with me in changing lives? Appreciate it.

Well, guys, really quickly, we’re just gonna go ahead and just jump into things, I really want to talk about finding purpose, and how to find purpose in your life. And I think it’s interesting because a lot of people want to find purpose I did. And I want to know more the purpose of my life and What I was made to do and built to do. And the journey to find that purpose was radically different than What I originally thought it was going to be. The journey of finding purpose really included understanding who I am, Alright. It’s really understanding who I am the way I think, my strengths, my weaknesses, What I’m great at when I’m where I perform poorly, and What I do, where I need to improve as an individual, and things that I don’t really need to improve.

And it’s interesting, because it’s this journey of understanding who I am, and knowing who I am and Andrew and I have been on that same journey. You know, as partners, we’ve done a lot of this together, which has been cool. I’m really blessed to have a partner like Andrew, we are exact opposites in a lot of ways, but like, that’s What makes everything work, because we are united with the goal and the vision. And then it allows us to work together in that way. And so he’s been on this journey, I’ve been on this journey. The other thing, too, that’s been interesting to watch is, as I’ve been on this journey, and he’s been on this journey, we’ve watched the company go along the same journey.

So if you’ve heard me talk about the company is you, your clients are you, your team members are you, in relationship, that’s where it’s really come from, for me seeing and reflecting then recognizing the pattern that’s occurring in my personal life, to see it in my relationships with people and in the company and in the business side. And so if you’re unclear and unsure of your company’s identity, if you’re unclear or unsure of the company’s vision, it’s because you personally are not clear on your own vision, you’re not clear on your own identity, you’re not, you don’t really know who you are. And I think part of this journey is we are made to interact with people and pick up things along the way from other people. And What happens is, is we actually pick up the wrong pieces and the wrong things from people.

So instead of learning, and instead of religious gleaning wisdom or knowledge, and really understanding where other people are going, we pick up pieces that don’t make sense for us, we pick up other things, like we pick up pieces of their identity, who they want to be, and then we’re like, cool, I want to be that too, without actually stopping to take the time and actually go through is this beneficial for me, and is this actually who I am, I may be able to relate to that person, because we have similar pieces of identity or similar characteristics and traits of personality, but looking at other people, and then taking What they have, because I have low self esteem is really harmful.

And I’m saying this because I’ve done this, I’m saying this because I really realized and recognize that these are things that I’ve done along my journey is I don’t like me, so I want to be somebody else who isn’t me. And then as a result, I can see that translated in the company, I can see that translated in friendships, partnerships, I can see that translated in the clientele that we’ve worked with along the way too. And it’s interesting, because we are in charge of our lives, and What we’re building, we’re in charge of building our lives and What we want life to be. And that is directly correlated with who we are, and our identities, and it’s directly correlated with who I am. And who I am, I would even argue as causal of everything outside of me.

And so I’m saying this, because if you’re on the entrepreneurial journey, or you’re thinking about starting your business, right, you’re going to really watch how you who you are personally affects everything in your life. If you’re looking for a different job, that effect is still applicable. If you’re looking to be in a relationship, that effect is still applicable. However, I think it’s a little hard to see because it’s limited to one or two facets versus cool. I’m living and breathing in this thing all the time now, because you can look at your job position. And it’s harder to connect your job position versus Wow, this is What I do all the time. And this is a direct reflection of me.

The point of all this, at the end that I’m trying to say is this. You have to be able to see and be able to look to really understand who you are, and it takes being wrong to do that. It really takes humility and being wrong and being like cool, this is wrong. And I don’t know why we think that wrong is an absolute death sentence. as to who we are or What we are, and I think part of that is because we base our identity off of being right. But I’ll tell you What, if you’re willing to be wrong and actually look and address and see and reflect and grow and learn and change, everything is going to radically get better.

Anyways guys, I’m over. I’ll catch you later. Peace.
