What’s up, everybody? Welcome back to THE a.m guys.
So last episode, I talked about friction and challenges, and I’m going to continue on with that, and I do think that applies. I’ve been talking about the market a lot. I’ve been talking about how the economy has been shifting, and this is going to be one of those moments where there’s challenges and friction. And I think it’s so important not to run away from what is happening, not to run away mentally, and not to run away presently, like you actually have to be present to begin. If you are behind in building and preparing for these things, right? You have to be present for this. It’s so important to be present.
And you have to be really in a place to face whatever ‘s about to come. And friction ‘s a part of that. And maturing ‘s going to occur. Growth is going to occur. If you listen to, oh, what’s his name? I can’t it escapes me, but the guy who founded Uber, you listen to a story, he’s like, Hey, what got us sharp and amazing to found the company was all the problems we had in all of our previous startups and all our previous ideas, the hardship made us sharp. And I think that’s so important, and it’s so important to see like cool, what is coming up is refinement period in business and in life, whatever ‘s about to happen if there’s hardship, it’s refinement, and there’s challenges to overcome, and there’s challenges to move forward.
And I think it’s so important, important not to avoid the friction and not to avoid the challenges. If you just bury your head in your sand, and if you are just going to run away because of anxiety or fear, and you’re not going to stand up to face those things, you’re going to come out at a loss at the end of this, whatever is going to happen, and you will lose out. It’s amazing how much fear kills and destroys long term in our lives. And we may not see at the moment, it may give reprieve for the moment, but it’s it’s so detrimental, and it’s amazing because it’s like, if you think about, like, cool, any school project you procrastinated on, right? You were in school, you had a big project you procrastinated on, and the more you procrastinated, the more you became afraid of even doing it, because the work grew and the timeline grew, and the pressure grew, and all those things grew and you kept the more it grew, the more you wanted to run away from it.
This is going to be one of those situations too. You can either choose to begin dealing and moving through things now and really preparing and thinking through it doesn’t have to be anything crazy, right? but you can begin thinking through and preparing and strategizing now and move through it, or you can run away from it, and running away is never going to produce anything positive from a situation like this.
And I want to say this too. I think it’s really important to remember the things that we as people are most proud of in our lives are the hard things. When was the last thing you talked about in or told somebody a story about in your life, of something you were proud of doing, or an accomplishment you achieved that wasn’t hard? For instance, like, Man, I’m so proud of myself. I breathed today. He didn’t do that. I didn’t do that. Why? Breathing ‘s easy. Instead, it was like, No, I accomplished. I did something, I worked hard, and I went through something that was hard, and I overcame that. And this is going to be one of those moments.
And again, I’ve talked about this before, especially with just where the state of the world is at right now, and I think it’s important to address this. You. This is one of those opportunities to really overcome, and something that you can look back on and be proud of in your life, or it’s something that a lot of people are going to rate run away from. I’m not going to be one of the people that runs away. Andrew and I’ve talked about cool. We’ve talked about this is coming, honestly. We talked about, like, three, four years ago, this is coming, and we need to prepare for it. And then you asked me, how did you see it was coming? Well, that’s another story for another time. And as a leader in my life once said, forever ago, but I’ll talk about how and why and but honestly, this is, this is where we’re at today, and what is happening. It’s not something to run away from. It’s really something to face and really something to see as an opportunity.
And I think it’s an opportunity to see that moving through this is going to get you really sharp, especially as a business owner and operator. It’s going to get you really sharp, and it’s going to help refine you. It will actually help cut competition people who are not as prepared or as willing to work to make the necessary changes in order to flourish through this season. If the market ‘s going to go into a recession or downturn or whatever, well, guess what? They’re not going to make it but that’s going to make it better for the market. Anyways, less competition ‘s always better.
And I’m saying all of this because you need to have the right perspective whatever ‘s going to happen. You got to have the right perspective in front of challenges. Nobody ever bragged about something that was easy. Everybody wants things to be hard. And if you’ve noticed, most people tend to make things out to be harder than they really are, because it makes them feel better about themselves. I think modesty is important too long term, but all that being said, All that being said, I think seeing whatever ‘s about to come as an opportunity to grow. Whatever ‘s about to come, just ‘s an opportunity to overcome and win at the end of the day.
Anyways, guys, I’ll catch you later. Peace.
