Hey what’s up everybody? Welcome back to THE a.m. Welcome back to 5 Minute Rants. I’m your host, Michael Abernathy. And this is the show predicated on the journey of life and business. I hope you’re doing great. I hope you’re having a great day. Thank you so much for tuning in. Thank you guys for being a part of the tribe, I really appreciate it. It really means the world to me.
So guys, real quick, what I want to talk about the day is that timing is everything. There’s an old proverb that says like the horse is prepared for battle. The runner is prepared for the race, but it is timing and being in the right place at the right time that matters. And I really believe that to be true, right? It really matters how the flow of things work in your life.
So I’ve talked about, or maybe I haven’t, and I should do an episode on flow. I think that flow has so much to do with life. How life is moving and flowing, especially where you are at currently. So oftentimes, life is very much like a river. And it’s so interesting, because I’ve talked about life being like a path, and rivers and paths run very similarly. They have branches, they have main streams, right? Like think about the highway, it looks just like a river. Traffic flows in and out, people can drive along. And that’s really how life works.
And what matters the most is taking advantage of your current opportunities that you have, where you are at in life. And so timing really matters. Because as you pass through doors as you let opportunities pass by, when they come back around again, they will. But, when they come back around again, they’re not going to be quite the same. This particular moment is so important in time.
So for instance, even me right now, taking the time and taking advantage of this opportunity currently to record and talk right now is everything. Everything is set up to do this, and my day has been set up to do this. And it’s so important to take advantage of that and not lose out on that opportunity. Timing really is everything. And a key to timing is taking advantage of the opportunity once it shows up.
We often lose out a lot in life and in business by not taking the opportunities presented. Now there’s a balance between saying yes to everything, and then you’re getting killed because of it. For instance, like you overbook yourself, you’re doubly book yourself on your calendar, you got multiple dates running at the same time, all these things that’s different. Versus I have planned work. These are all my hours to work, this is what I’m going to execute during this time and in this work. And moving into that accordingly to the time that you have.
So there’s like a season for everything. There’s a season for work for rest. There’s a season for play, there’s a season for fun to be sad to be merry, happy all these things. There’s timing associated with all these things. And it’s important to operate in that specific unit of time. Is it a part of work right now? Is it time to get up? Or is it time to sleep. And when it seems to be that when those boxes when those lanes are violated in time, it hurts everything else down the line. There’s a domino effect. That trickles down later in line that hurts everything. Y’all excuse me had to clear my throat. But there’s a there’s a domino effect that occurs when we violate that box of time.
And so, I’m saying this because oftentimes we’re stuck, or we get stuck, or we’re presented and faced with a problem that we can’t quite seem to get around. And it’s actually a timing issue. It’s a timing issue based on what we’re trying to do. It’s a timing issue based on how we’re trying to do it.
I firmly believe that nothing just happens to us or to me, everything happens for me. And I’ve been presented and have been presented with opportunities, whether they’re problems, whether they’re, and I’m air quoting problems, because oftentimes problems are blessings in disguise. And pain oftentimes is where ownership occurs, and where finances and money and profit occurs. And we can talk about all that later. But it is the timing and taking the timing to move into those things and making sure that I act appropriately in each of those areas as they show up. And part of that is spending my time wisely.
Everybody has been given the same amount, and you’re going to spend your time always no matter what. It is inevitable that you spend your time doing whatever you are going to do. It’s taking advantage of the opportunity for how you get to spend it, what you get to execute against in that timeframe in that time period. So going back to, you know, it’s the Swift it’s not always a swift runner who wins the race and it’s not always the horse that’s prepared for war that wins the battle. Timing is everything.
Anyways guys, I’ll catch y’all later. Y’all have a great day. Peace!
