Hey what’s up? What’s up? What’s up everybody? Welcome back to THE a.m guys. Welcome back to five minute rants. I’m your host, Michael Abernathy. And welcome back to the show predicated on the journey of life and business. Hey guys real quick. Would you partner with me to change lives and to really impact the world for the better? Would you share this episode with somebody that you know, or share the show with somebody that you know would benefit, and their lives would change for the better by listening to it? I appreciate the partnership guys.
Well, today, I actually want to talk about this. No one wants a website. And the first thought y’all probably having is What in the world does it have to do with anything? And it actually has to do with everything, ironically enough. And this is What I mean by that, when Andrew and I first started business, we’re selling websites. But guess What, no one actually wants a website. When was the last time somebody woke up, their head popped off the pillow and they’re like, oh, I want a website. Nobody has ever said that in their lifetime. What did they say I want value. I want What I value in my life. I want my initiatives, my goals, to be accomplished. I want all the issues and fires in my life to stop, I want peace, I want all these things in the business to move forward in the direction and in the way that I want them to move forward. That’s What they want. They want the real issues, needs and goals of the business met, and delivered and executed. And a website is not that a website is just simply a website.
And so this is What I’m getting at when you are in business. And if you’re doing business, people only want value. And now Here’s the thing about value, it is subjective, I get to decide What I value in my life. And I also get to decide What I don’t value in my life. And if you’ve listened to the podcast episode that I talked about, really describing What money is as a technology, that money is just a universal denominator for value. It is a universal solution to the value problem we had when we used to barter with chickens and eggs and goats and sheeps and cows, it solves that problem and allows people to get What they value. Right? Money is not value money is a tool to purchase What you value. Money is a tool to purchase What you value, it is not value itself. Like if you think about the US currency, it is legitimately just paper. It is wood pulp mixed with some cotton, and has some really fancy ink and some other things inside of it. That’s it, versus What is really valuable food, clothing, family, relationships, Networks, all these other things.
And so when you are starting business, just know that people are not buying your product, most likely for the reasons you think they might be buying it. Right people value different things when people like I want a website, it doesn’t matter how many businesses we’ve done business with every time it boils down to somebody wanting something different. And somebody wanting something more. And there’s some universal principles. There’s some universal values that most people want. But it’s really not as simple as Oh, cool. I just want a website, I want marketing. And it actually takes more than that. It actually takes more than website and marketing to get What I want out of life. It takes purpose. It takes planning, it takes drafting a roadmap to get us from A to Z to move forward. It really does. It takes having a plan predicated on my greater good. And my real business issues, needs and goals predicated on all those things that I can execute against to get me where I need to go in life and in business.
And so when people would come to us and want websites, we realized that’s not What they really want. They want a goal accomplished in their life. And now this is universally applied to everything. Right? What value do I get with being in relationships with people, right? And it is applied across the board The guy selling me he selling me a new car, What does he really value? What does he really want? And Here’s the thing, it’s on me to discover this. It is my job to listen and ask questions and discover What people really value and What people really want. And you will find that most times that when you ask questions and discover you’ll find that they normally want What you want. Right? Most people want similar things and value similar things. And I’m not just talking about principles that so that we can value too but I’m talking about in the transactional sense when I go get a cup of coffee. What do I really want? Is it the cup of coffee that I’m buying or is it the consistency? Is it the friendliness? Is it the atmosphere? Is it the customer experience? Is that What I’m getting in turn for my money? That’s the value I’m getting just thoughts and questions for y’all hope this sparks something new in a different way to think.
And I’m out of time so I’ll catch you later peace
